22556VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace

22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

$120 per student

Course Description

By the end of the course, participants will gain the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to administer first aid to individuals experiencing sudden illnesses or injuries, like asthma or anaphylaxis. The course focuses on the abilities needed to save lives, stop a condition from getting worse, and aid in recovery. This encompasses the initial aid given to a person with a severe condition until professional medical help arrives, such as administering CPR while waiting for an ambulance and providing complete care for less severe conditions, like using water to treat burns or helping someone who is choking.

The training will focus on enhancing the skills and knowledge needed to create a management plan for asthma sufferers and interventions in asthma-related incidents in the workplace. This course follows the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council and is relevant for anyone, including workers and community members, who may need to offer first aid or CPR during an emergency. It also covers how to deal with asthma and anaphylaxis at work.

By successfully fulfilling the course requirements, students will gain the skills to create strategies for managing and reducing the risk of asthma and anaphylaxis among individuals in the workplace who are at risk. This involves creating and carrying out risk assessments and management plans for these individuals to prevent emergencies.

This course offers training that is nationally recognised. It is designed for first aiders at work or workers from any sector who need to care for People who are either adults or children and are at risk of developing asthma and/or anaphylaxis, or are currently showing signs of such conditions.

** Certain industries, for example, childcare and education, require additional training.
